Re-instate the repeater

Glen and Dave ran the power cable to supply DC to the repeater cabinet.  They also ran three LMR400 coaxes from the feeder entry plate to the cabinet to connect the antennas.  Repeater was powered up and put back on the air, but the UHFlink antenna still needs a suitable bracket to move it to the top of the new tower where the heliax ends.  At the moment the heliax is not terminated onto the UHF Yagi towards Cradock.  However the Cradock UPF link is still out of action...

Surveys

Sites were visited to assess the equipment and keys needed to re-commission them in the near future.

9 April

145.700 - George

WCRWG team, with ZS2AE and ZS2AAW

Add Philips PRF10 UHF Link

The new UHF duplex 12VDC link was taken to site while the WCRWG team was busy erecting a new X200 dualband colinear.  Jan was checking and aligning the VHF duplexer, to which a diplexer was added and the UHF link connected.  No audio/keying cross connections were done as yet, so the link is stand-alone for now.

Re-commission the George Repeater from scratch:

Take over the 24V DC battery bank and charger on the old Eskom site (Purchased as scrap).  Re-mount the VHF Repeater alongside the UHF link on the left of the wall.  Run two new heliax feeders and install the ex-Dana Bay VHF colinear, and a UHF corner reflector towards Dana Bay.  Install the ex-Dana Bay UHF link.  Repair the VHF repeater (popped cap in TX audio).  Install the ex-Stilbaai VHF duplexer as aligned by Jan, with RF Circulator supplied by ZS2AAW

.

3 April
