Hamnet South Africa is hosting the event – the fourth edition of the Hamnet Communications Exercise and the theme this year is “Blackout”.
Andrew Gray, the head of Hamnet Eastern Cape will be leading a team of radio hams and Hamnet members from around Port Elizabeth. We will be setting up the base at the Voortrekker Camping Ground near the Van Staadens Gorge and operating from there from 12:00 on Saturday 24 October until 12:00 Sunday 25 October. We will be arriving from about 9am in order to setup antennae and get ready for the start.
There are a number of ways you can be a part of the exercise: You can attend as a team member, you can help with logistics, you can spread the word and you can pop out and visit us.

Visitors are welcome too, so bring the XYL if that helps you get out ;)

What about food?
Anything you want to eat or drink, you need to bring. We will probably braai in the evening, but your food and drink is your baby!
Tea and Coffee will be provided and there is a gas stove at the venue. If you want to bake in the oven,change your mind!
The fee to overnight at Voortrekkers is R 35.00. This is the camp fee which gets paid over to Voortrekkers. (Pay us, we will pay them).
Day visitors are free.

Fascilities at the venue:
At the venue is dorm style accommodation, warm showers, a gas stove, braai fascilities and ample safe parking.
